Adam Cramer and American’s De-Industrialization

When Andrew David Watson first met Adam Cramer five or six years ago, his career was just starting out.  And while spending a larger portion of his day in a local coffee shop, he happened to meet a local named Adam Cramer.  A man with advanced skills in refurbishing old machines, drinking iced-coffee and an unforgettable personality.  It wasn’t long before Watson started working on a short film about him.  Check out what Adam has to say about todays consumers, it’s youth and their drive (or lack thereof), and America.  Personally i have to agree with his insights and commentary on us as a nation.  You agree or not? Guilty Finishes “Hillbilly 68″ Iron Head Sporty

Well, Hillbilly 68′ made it debut at Daytona Bike Week and hit a few of the shows. Most notable being the Limpnickie Lot’s bike show!  The bike built for Jerome Reed is done!  Finally! We’re sure Mr. Reed is riding this baby all over the big “O” town (Orlando for the uninitiated).  With interest high from the start from magazines all over the world, we’re looking forward to some good articles on the bike.  So, here’s to JD for his awesome work on the bike (again).  Jerome for his patience and vision and to the others that helped out, (Chad Pearson custom springer front end, Freddie Hernandez for awesome frame, Steve O’brien for paint).  Now onto our next cool little project.  Which is a 53 GMC truck. That should be fun!

Those that understand the process of building a custom motorcycle will definitely understand the trials and tribulations that face one when undertaking such endeavors.  Mix that with a platform you have never worked on before (a 2004 BMW R1200CL), a model that has never been extensively modified before by any builder we know of! then throw in a few stupid-wild-crazy ideas (such as using an 11″ wide rear tire, stretching a drive shaft 4″ with offset of 2″ then raking the front end with 4″ off set trees, then putting a turbo in the mix), and you quickly get the idea of what faces us on this build.  Bob was very busy with his calculator, pencil and scratch pad putting everything just right before cutting into this beast. With all calculations, fabrications underway and mockup in process the rake of this bike is now 37 degrees, the front wheels moved forward over 4″. With the drive shaft stretched 4″, the wheelbase has now gone from a stock 64″ to a nice long low 72″.   Also, the ride height is now 5.5″ which is down from 8″ with a 4″ trail.  And yes that is a 280.40.20 rear wheel and a 23″ front wheel!  Long and low is how i like’m!  You can check out the other pic’s of the bike build and/or follow us on Facebook HERE. The Garrett turbo just hit the shop thanks to Mike Beland at A1 Cycles who helped us out. Mike…thanks buddy! So, you think the germans have anything to worry about with this build?!
