Spitfire Motorcycles New Front End

Posted: 10 Apr 2011 07:07 AM PDT

When you meet a guy like Paul Cavallo of Spitfire Motorcycles, there is one thing that stands out.  He knows everyone! And i guess he should. Paul has been doing business longer than most guys have been alive so, it shouldn’t come as a surprise. Along with building some kickin’ motorcycles to feature his products, Paul, builds everthing from footpegs, handle bars, air breathers, seat pans, and now, Paul’s newest product is a dual-coil-over damped shock girder front end.  When i met Paul at the LA Easyrider show this year, i knew i’d found the guy to help us with our next product build. The Spitfire Girder front end is made from the highest quality American DOM tubing. All of the parts on this front end are CNC machined for a precise assembly. They are available in 2-inch length increments from -2? to + 12?.  The unit comes complete with 3/4-inch axle and chrome hardware. Can be ordered with brake mount for 00-07 caliper CCI p/n 640263 Left or 640264 Right (must use 11.5? rotor on late model narrow glide hub). Also available are 3 & 6 degree rake top link kits. Headlight sold separately. Like all of Pauls products, this front end is made at his facility in Rancho Cucamonga, California USA. For more information, please go to Spitfire Motorcycles.  Price: $849

Guilty’s 1/2 Pint Goes Hollywood

Posted: 07 Apr 2011 09:32 AM PDT

Who would have thought that little-ole “1/2 Pint” would find her way into the big screen!  But she has. When Paul Peterson bought her, we knew he’d have a blast riding her through the PA country side and we also knew that Paul, part of the band “Big House Pete” would be a great promoter of our bikes. But we were surprised when we got notification that his bike would be a character in the upcoming movie “Death From Above”. The movie features Kurt Angle (yep that WWW wrestler Kurt!) as the leader of an evil pagan cult! Tom Savini as a hard-nosed sheriff! Psycho Sid Vicious as an asskicker in a muscle car! Throw in Maniac Cop Robert Z’Dar, a few more pro wrestling stars, and more Druids than an Undertaker ring entrance; and you get the recipe for Bruce Koehler’s Death From Above. The cast also includes TNA wrestling big man Matt Morgan, TNA women’s wrestler ODB (as in Old Dirty Bitch), Maniac Cophimself- Robert Z’Dar, and Harry O’Toole, best known for his dual turn in 12 Monkeys as the homeless man being tracked by devices in his teeth and the voice inside Bruce Willis’ head.  You can find out more about the move and the band HERE.

1st Kickstart Classic Motorcycle Ride

Posted: 06 Apr 2011 12:19 PM PDT

Looks like the guys over at American Iron Magazine, Roadbike Magazine, Wheels Through Time, Panhead City and Barber Motorsports have gathered together and have planned a neat little “get-to-gether”.  The 1st Kickstart Classic Motorcycle Ride!  Only requirement! Riders must have a motorcycle with a kickstart!  And it can be American or import, however if your bike doesn’t have a kickstart….well, your relegated to the back of the pack! Sorry guys/gals.  Riders will assemble at the Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley, NC Wednesday, Oct 6, 2011. Then leave around 10 am on Thursday Oct 6 and ride over the mountains to Rome, GA where they will be hosted by the guys at Panhead City.  Riders then leave Rome, GA Friday morning around 10 am and ride to Barber Motorsports outside Birmingham, AL. Barber is hosting their annual Vintage Fesitval that weekend and there will be special parking and possibly an honorary lap of the famed racetrack. There is no charge for this event and we suggest you make your plans and hotel reservations soon as rooms might sell out. If you need more information just contact Buzz Kanter at American Iron Magazine or any of the other participating magazines.  Buzz is on Facebook and Linkedin if you want to reach.

Licks’ Cycles Visormatic 6000

Posted: 05 Apr 2011 04:20 PM PDT

I don’t know about you but i hate to wear a helmet every time i ride. I like options. Like cool summer breeze blowing my hair off my scalp (you can tell i’ve done a lot of riding by the scarcity of hair left on the dome), or talking with my wife on a cross country ride as we take in the beauty of this world. Granted, for the better part i do wear a helmet.  Especially when my better half is with me. So, when i do wear a helmet it better darn well be comfortable.  In the garage there is 2 full face, 1 transitional, 3 old style 3/4 face helmets and even a converted helicopter pilots helmet. So, after checking out Lick's Cycles newest baby, i have to say, i may find more reason to strap the noggin inside another 3/4 helmet cause it gives me face and eye protection while looking pretty cool. The new VISORMATIC 6000®, "Patent Pending," is designed for quick and easy installation to any ¾ open face helmet. Currently offered in clear, flash mirror and transitional shades; the lens is manufactured from scratch, fog and impact resistant polycarbonate. Rubber retention tabs fitted to the lens simply slide into place between the helmet shell and lining so glasses aren't an issue. So, it combines some very cool retro styling with space age materials.  Check them out at Licks’ page HERE. Dealer inquiries invited.
