| Posted: 19 Jun 2011 08:19 AM PDT This is correspondence from Harold Grissom who is a participant in this years Stampede ride across america. Race day is upon us. As expected, this will be the longest and most difficult Stampede to date. Right at 3300 miles all the way to the east coast and then back west to Rockingham, North Carolina. Looks as if a good bit of that will be through incliment weather. Tornadoes are blistering central United States as we speak with more to come as the warm air from the Gulf heads north. Predominant route is via The Loneliest Highway (Hwy. 50), and realistically a GPS won’t help you with this one. I won’t be updating until I reach the other side. All love to my sons, Alyson, Alex and my family. Good luck to all my fellow Stampeders whom I have the utmost respect. Wished I could see you guys more than once a year. In the words of my son, Owen, “If you ain’t first, you’re last! Shake-N-Bake!” (OK, that was Owen quoting Ricky Bobby off Taladega Nights, but he knows that gets me all worked up. Haha). Reality is that I’m already first because of my faith and my family (which obviously includes Alyson and Alex). Shake-N-Bake. Go ahead, share the news with friends & enjoy. Best thing you'll do all day!: Random Posts
