Guilty Customs GC1200R BMW Bagger

While it’s not common knowledge to the general motorcycle industry or those that know or follow us, we hold a deep dark secret here at Guilty. We’re closet BMW riders. Yep, we said it! And we’ve ridden clear across the USA with our wife along with other long distance rides too!  This secret had gotten bigger than we were initially able to handle so we eventually had to seek counseling and am coming clean as part of our therapy here in this blog. And in acknowledging our attraction to BMW’s, it has inspired us to take a leap in the prototype field by producing this raked, stretched and lowered BMW bagger which sports some major fabrication work. Taking cues from traditional v-twin customs, yet retaining the major styling points of the original bike (which is a 2004 R1200CL), we teamed up with renowned fabricator and artist Bob Thrash of  Thrash Designs to put our ideas down on paper.

In approaching this project, we know that 1) we’re treading where few, if any, have dared to venture by basing this build off of a conservative touring BMW bike 2) We will more than likely be dealing with those that see this as an ill conceived project, 3) addressing some of the limitations of the bike….(The first being to overcome the paltry horsepower issue by incorporating turbo’s into this project). 4) we’re building a bike that BMW is interested in getting more information about 5) we believe this build will stir the imagination of the BMW market and show them you can make a stylish bagger regardless of the platform.  So here is what we’ve come up with so far.
