| Young Riders Suffering More Brain Injuries Posted: 19 Nov 2010 10:05 PM PST Whether you agree with helmet laws or not, some facts need to be reviewed and considered by everyone. Take a look at this article published online Nov. 15 in Pediatrics where finding show that in 2006, about 25 percent of all traumatic brain injuries sustained in motorcycle crashes involving 12- to 20-year-olds resulted in long-term disabilities. And patients with serious head injuries were at least 10 times more likely to die in the hospital than patients without serious head injuries. One study looked at the number of head injuries among young motorcyclists and the medical costs; the other looked at the impact of laws requiring helmet use for motorcycle riders, which vary from state to state. | Licks Clip-On’s Posted: 19 Nov 2010 06:02 PM PST The guys at Licks Cycles have released these cool Clip-On Bars which were previously seen on the company's show-stopping "LC FUELIE" machine. These Road Race-inspired bars provide a whole new dimension for today's custom builders (and we’re liking them for one of our next builds already). Licks Clip-Ons are precision-crafted from high quality aluminum stock, machined to competition-spec tolerances. A straight forward fit, the Clip-Ons simply slide over and clamp onto stock 39mm fork tubes and are completely adjustable. Whether you mount them low, under the top tree, or mount them high above the tree by going with slightly longer fork tubes these are some cool bars to have on a bike. The kit comes complete with 1-in. x 12-in. adjustable bars, billet bar clamps and mounting hardware. Licks offers a variety of style options with prices starting at just $199.00 for the complete kit. Call Licks direct at 413-663-9050 or catch them at the website here.
