“Hot Crotch” solution from Diamond Gussett

Posted: 08 May 2011 02:24 PM PDT

Riding for more than an hour (regardless of the weather) tends to wreck havoc on us ole guys (and possibly some younger one too), when it comes to the “comfort zone” between the thighs.  (Looking cool on a chopper can be hard sometimes!)  Anyway, we found a solution to our “hot crotch” dilemma a few years back when we met David Hall the owner of a jeans company, called Gusset Brand Jeans.  Having worn dozens of their jeans over the course of the last 5 years i can attest to their comfort on not only long motorcycle rides, but also just hanging around the shop or walking the malls with wife, or a night out with the boys.  Serious comfort isn’t something to sneeze at.  Note: We have no data or idea how many children or love lives have been affected by decreased blood flow or discomfort after a long ride.  You can check their stuff out HERE.

Thanks MOM!

Posted: 07 May 2011 08:21 PM PDT

Suffice it to say that we as youth take a lot of things and people for granted.  We take the fact we have a roof over our head and food (most times) on the table. A bed to sleep on and clothes to wear when needed. We have parents that try to provide for us regardless of our rebellion and/or stupidity.  One particular person we personally seemed to repeatedly underestimate or value, was dear old mom.  While she is now confined to a home for alzheimer patients, where she doesn’t recognize us anymore, her loving heart and firm hand in discipline still influences us to this day. So here’s to you mom! Happy Mothers Day!

Hoka Hey Challenge, H.O.G. Style

Posted: 07 May 2011 07:25 PM PDT

The Harley-Davidson Motor Company is pleased to announce that it will provide more than $50,000 in contingency prizes to the highest finishing members of the Harley Owners Group who complete the 2011 Hoka Hey Challenge. To recognize the H.O.G. members partaking in this event as among the most adventurous motorcyclists in the world, the highest finishing eligible H.O.G. member who completes the event, as determined by the organizers, will be awarded a 2012 Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations motorcycle of his or her choice. In addition, the 2nd through 5th highest finishing eligible H.O.G. members will each be awarded a portion of a total of $19,000 in additional cash prizes.

The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge will present one of the world’s greatest long-distance endurance motorcycle riding events beginning Aug. 5, 2011.

The event, the second annual in a series, begins in Phoenix, Arizona, and travels through all forty-eight contiguous U.S. states and several Canadian provinces to Nova Scotia. The route will travel more than 10,000 miles, and is open to all riders of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Steve Piehl (Harley-Davidson Director of Customer Experience) says: “The Hoka Hey Challenge is a perfect match for the superior touring experience and capabilities of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and the long-distance adventuring aspirations of many of our H.O.G. members. The theme of the Hoka Hey Challenge is 'It’s a good day to ride!’ and that is always the case on a Harley.”

To be eligible for any contingency award, the rider must be a H.O.G. member in good standing at the time the ride starts and must display a H.O.G. emblem on his or her riding gear and in a prominent location on the motorcycle (preferably on the windshield or Tour Pak) throughout the event.

The H.O.G. member must be the designated rider (passengers not eligible) and meet all eligibility requirements for the event. H.O.G. emblems and decals will be provided free of charge to all members who participate in the event at the start of the challenge.

As an event and contingency sponsor only, Harley-Davidson Motor Company is not responsible for organizing or conducting the event, and will defer all decisions regarding final finishing order to the event organizers.

So, lets see…. how much would it take to get me to go to a really nice southern Caribbean island, enjoy the weather, meet some really friendly and cool people, swim in the ocean is blue, blue, blue caribbean ocean, eat some awesome food, which is off the charts, check out the beautiful island women and tromp the forest which are always green and inviting?  Hm, lets see. Absolutely very little, that’s what!  And add on top of those cool elements a chance to ride some of my bikes, and see some other people awesome bikes, and it’s the making of a GOOD time. Check out the First International Bike Week in Aruba.  Dates fit well for getting out of the snow (if ya live up north) so what are ya waiting for?!
